I teach people unique, simple body movements so they can
naturally
increase energy and feel better at work!

Many office workers spend the bulk of their days sitting in chairs. We are now hearing "sitting is the new smoking", so standing workstations have gained in popularity.  Yet many people are still experiencing aches, pains and fatigue when standing. What gives?

Dynamic Workstation Wellness:  Our bodies are meant to be moving frequently and with variation.  Our bodies adapt to what we do most often- too much stillness & repetitive body positions will contribute to the deterioration of our circulation, health and vitality.  Many people go from sitting still all day to standing still much of the day (in the same repetitive way!) Following up this stillness with short bouts of intense exercise, we find our health does not improve in the ways we would hope. This is where Natural Movement Solutions comes in: frequent, all day movement variety improves health and well-being and does not need to be intense or difficult to be of benefit. These simple movements and position changes can be done while working or during breaks without sacrificing productivity.

How can my Natural Movement Solutions program help your employees and business?

Research shows that movement spread throughout the work day can help to:
  • Reduce musculoskeletal discomfort/pain
  • Improve energy levels and productivity
  • Contribute to weight loss over the long term
  • Improve blood pressure and cardiovascular health
  • Improve metabolic parameters such as blood sugar and cholesterol.
All of these health and productivity benefits can save your company money, improve Health Risk Assessments and improve employee satisfaction!

5 Steps to Natural Movement Solutions

After an assessment of your company's needs, I will work with your employees to change their movement habits. Over the course of multiple classes, they will:
  1. Learn:  the whys and hows of using movement in the office to improve health
  2. Observe:  their positions & alignment,  habits, breathing, sensations and tension patterns through nonjudgmental mindfulness.
  3. Choose:  2-3 habits or movements to work with using what they have learned.  Practice these new habits until they become second nature.
  4. Move More:  continue to add more positions, movements and activity as the previous new habits are established
  5. Evaluate/Celebrate:  the small or large changes taking place in their health, mobility and abilities.  Continue to apply what they learn and observe about their body.
How does it work?

I will meet with you to discuss your company's needs and establish a proposal.  Most company visits will be in 2-4 hour increments.  The time can be used for lunch and learn type presentations, sessions of 45-60 minute group movement classes and single or duo "mini-sessions" at the employee's workstation.
Establishing new habits and learning new ways to move or position the body requires repetition. Repeated twice monthly sessions over a period of 3 months are suggested as the most popular option to get a group of employees started on the road to utilizing dynamic workstation wellness!

Packages can include:
  • Advice and instruction on standing, sitting, movement, exercises, body awareness/mindfulness, alignment, work station modifications, habit modification and use of props/tools. The movement/exercises taught will be able to be carried over into the employee's workstation area.
  • Laminated exercise handouts for each participating employee to keep at workspace as a reminder tool.
  • Access to instructional videos and pdf handouts on private area of my website
  • Follow-up email support with reminders or newsletters
  • A foot stretching dome and set of tune-up self massage balls for each employee
  • Optional Add-On Stress Relief Packages for at-home self care.  Utilizing TRE®, breathing techniques, positional release, further tune-up ball self massage work.
